On many occasions we have heard about the reproduction of plants, but the truth is that many doubts still arise about this subject. First of all, we have to say that plants can reproduce in two different ways, that is, sexually and asexually. Two completely different reproductive forms that coincide at the same point, in the creation of new floral species.
Focusing on what interests us, we are going to talk about the sexual reproduction of plants and which are the plants that reproduce sexually.
The sexual reproduction of plants is a complex process, but one that takes place when the female and male cells of plants merge.
Sexual reproduction processes of plants
During the sexual reproduction of plants we can distinguish the following stages:
- Pollination: This is the main stage of this process, and occurs when pollen reaches the pistil. This stage can occur in different ways, either thanks to living beings, wind, etc.
- Fertilization: This is when the connection between male and female gametes originates.
- Fertilization: Stage in which the seed and fruit are formed.
- Germination: As its name suggests, this is when the germination of the seed occurs.

What plants reproduce sexually?
Referring now to plants that reproduce sexually , we must point out the following:
- Calla lilies: Commonly known as Calas, it is one of the plants that reproduce sexually. This type of plant originates from the South African Cape and is characterized by being an evergreen plant which can reach 1.50 meters in height. They need a lot of light for their development and their predominant colors are white, which surrounds the characteristic spike, which has yellow and orange colors.
- Margaritas: Also known as chiribitas, it is a very common plant, which can measure between 15 cm and 1 meter. It is characterized by the flowers that these plants present, since they have a yellow center, surrounded by petals that can be the same color and even white.
- Dahlias: They are plants that reproduce sexually and have their origin in Mexico. This type of plant can reach a little more than a meter in height and is characterized by the large number of species and varieties that exist, since more than 2000 different species of Dahlias have been recorded .
- Violets: These are plants that measure between 10 and 15 cm, whose main characteristic feature is that they are very aromatic and fragrant. They also have very striking colors that vary from white tones to violet tones.

Roses are very common plants that reproduce sexually.
The following very common plants that reproduce sexually stand out, such as:

- Hydrangea
